Postpartum Acne?

Did you know that postpartum acne was a thing? Those darn hormones. Hormones caused our acne in our teen years during puberty, some of us experience acne each month during that time of the month, during pregnancy and post-pregnancy too! Whew, sometimes being a woman is tough.

Our bodies experience a handful of changes, including our skin. Higher hormone levels increase sebum (oil) production which in response creates clogged pores. And not all acne means facial acne, at times we struggle with body acne too, can it get any worse? Each of our bodies are different, not everyone has the same experiences during pregnancy, and after. Some who do share the same experiences may have a completely different timeline than others. Regardless hormonal changes can be ugly sometimes, but this is all normal.

Our skin is our largest organ and protects our eternal organs. It also protects our baby for nine months and helps bring them into the world safely. Remember, no matter how frustrating bodily changes occur; enlarged skin tags, worsened pre-existing skin acne, dark patches etc. even new derriere bumps. It can take a while for your skin to bounce back, in the meantime, love yourself, love your body, you created life and you're one beautiful momma.
